Sunday Church School (SCS) is a very important part of the life of St. Matthew.
Sunday Church School meets 10:00 - 10:45 AM each Sunday, with special programs and electives throughout the year.
We offer classes for infants (nursery) through adults. An offering is received weekly in every class.
Children and youth classes are taught by teaching teams. We offer: Nursery, Pre-kindergarten for 3 year olds and 4’s, Kindergarten, Grades 1 and 2, Grades 3 and 4, Grade 5, Grades 6 and 7, Grades 8 and 9 and Grades 10 through 12.
Seven (7) Adult classes are available and vary by age and teaching method style.
Electives are taught by our pastors or others in the community as well as visiting missionaries.
Special SCS activities include an Advent and Lent Event, Mother's Day Orchestra Spring Concert, Easter Day, and our Christmas Program. Children, youth and adults gather in the Folkemer Fellowship Hall or the auditorium for crafts, sing-a-longs, presentations, performances and drama.
The SCS Picnic is held each summer with great food, games, swimming and more. The evening closes with devotions and singing.
Our Congregation Retreat is held each Labor Day weekend at Camp Nawakwa. In 2008 we'll be celebrating our 50th anniversary (see Groups & Activities/Nawakwa Retreat).
