American Red Cross
Two American Red Cross Blood Donation Drives are held each year at St. Matthew in the Folkemer Fellowship Hall. The donation drives are typically held in February and August. The units of blood collected help to replenish the local hospital blood banks.

Compassion York
This service project is organized and sponsored by Grace Lutheran Church in York. St. Matthew members participate in cooking and preparing meals to feed the needy and homeless people of York City and York County. St Matthew members volunteer twice a year.
Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity of York has several building projects throughout the year. Over the past several years, St. Matthew has had many members volunteer their time and experience, particularly with the "Building-on-Faith" projects in September. Volunteers, ages 18 and over, are needed not just for construction, but also construction clean up, food preparation/serving, making telephone calls, and child care for the organization.

St. Matthew Refugee Family Committee
The Refugee Family Committee of St. Matthew has been reorganized to sponsor a family from Uzbekistan, of the former Soviet Union. The Karaev family came to York County on November 17, 2006. St. Matthew also sponsored the Yezini family from Sudan in 2004. The Refugee Family Committee members are volunteers who help with preparing, organizing and obtaining housing, furnishings, clothing, education, transportation and much more.
Samaritan's Purse
Sponsored through the international organization, Samaritan’s Purse, volunteers of St. Matthew pack shoeboxes filled with toys and appropriate toiletries to benefit needy children throughout the world. To participate, look for the information brochures and empty shoeboxes in the lobby on Sunday mornings in October and November. Dedication Sunday for the shoeboxes is typically the second Sunday in November.

York County Crop Walk
The annual York County Crop Walk is held the first or second Sunday in October. The funds generated from this walk benefit Church World Service which in turn benefits our food pantry here at St. Matthew. The event is a ten-kilometer walk held on the Heritage Rail Trail here in York. Multiple local churches participate in this event.
